Faithing It As We Go

It is funny that I am writing on this topic.

Until recent times, somewhere in the back of my mind, I longed to have enough faith. To build so much faith that nothing is impossible to me. To have my faith increase.

Whenever I hear the words “just believe”, I wondered if it was that simple.

The good news?

It is that simple.

Jesus said to his disciples have faith in God. So question is now do you have it or do you not.

Ephesians 2 tells us that the faith we have is not of our striving or works but it is a gift from God.

Don’t believe me?

Romans 10 explains that faith comes when the word of God comes to you. The word of God—the gospel—births faith in you. Chapter 12 of this same book states that we have all been dealt with the measure of faith. Simply put, na Him give us faith.

Let’s use this analogy. Mr. G loves you so much, he gives you a key to a chest full of treasures. But to access that chest you have to give him that key and then you can enjoy all that is in the chest.

Mr. G is God (that was so obvious, haq!). The key is faith. The chest full of treasures is your inheritance—the privileges, rights, blessings you have—as a child of God.

So when the Bible says the just shall live by faith, it simply means there is no other way we can live. We are birthed by faith.

We are children of faith.

Faith is simply believing in the finished works of Christ; nothing less, nothing more.

Perhaps you’re wondering what is the practical way to live by faith. The answer is simple. Walk by the leading of the Holy Spirit inside of you.

Those who are led by the Spirit are the sons of God. The Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.

We live this life of faith by and only by the Spirit of God.
